3 Days Akagera Safari

The 3 Days Akagera safari takes you through Rwanda’s best wildlife Park boasts over 500 species of birds and 375 wild mammals which you will have a chance to see while on games drive, boat trip and nature walk along Akagera River which is known as a water spot area. Such mammals include herds of elephant and buffalo, leopard, hyena, lion, Hippos, Zebras, Impalas, warthogs, buffalo, and Giraffes among others. Our 3 Days Akagera Safari begins and ends in Kigali.

Day 1: Arrival at Kigali Airport

Upon your arrival at Kigali international airport, you will meet our tour guide how will welcome and then drive you to Akagera National Park in Eastern Rwanda about a 2-hour drive

Day 2: Game drive and Boat trip – Akagera National Park

Enjoy early morning breakfast and start your game drives in an open-roofed vehicle. A half-day game drive here offers you an opportunity to spot a variety of games including elephants, buffalos, hippos, lions, Masai giraffe, gazelles, impala, baboons, oribi, Butchel’s zebra, topi, bush baby, leopard and bushbuck, and so on.

After Lunch, proceed for a boat trip along Lake Ihema, for a close encounter with the Crocodiles and Hippos along the river banks, coupled with a large concentration of over 525 bird species both migratory and savanna related. Unique species such as Shoe billed stocks and papyrus gonolek can be encountered. Endemics include the jacanas, ibis, sandpipers, and herons.

Day 3: Departure

After breakfast transfer to Nyamata Genocide memorial site and later return to Kigali International Airport for your flight back home.
