Whether you’re gearing up for a thrilling wildlife safari or an encounter with the majestic mountain gorillas in Bwindi Forest, our guidelines have you covered.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  3. Consider wearing shorts and a T-shirt during the day, switching to long-sleeved shirts and pants in the evenings.
  4. Keep your essentials in your carry-on luggage to avoid any inconvenience in case of delayed or lost checked baggage.
  5. For sun sensitivity, pack a loose, long-sleeved cotton shirt for daytime wildlife drives and gorilla treks.
  6. Bring a lightweight, breathable, windproof outer shell or jacket.
  7. Don’t forget a lightweight rain jacket, rain pants, and a rain poncho, especially during the rainy season.
  8. Pack 1-2 sweaters, sweatshirts, or fleece pullovers for cooler evenings and early mornings, particularly from June to September.
  9. Remember to include a warm hat, gloves, and scarf for added comfort in chilly weather.
  10. Opt for lightweight walking shoes and gaiters for nature walks, ensuring closed-toe shoes are worn. An extra pair of shoes or sport sandals can be handy.
  11. Pack 2-3 T-shirts or polo-style shirts, along with 2 lightweight, long-sleeved shirts and 2-4 pairs of long pants for varying temperatures throughout the day.
