This 3-day safari from Zanzibar to the Selous Game Reserve is one of the few short itineraries available by road from Dar es Salaam, after flying from Zanzibar to Dar es Salaam International Airport and back. Flights from Zanzibar to Dar es Salaam are included, but not transfers from your hotel to Zanzibar. If you provide us with the name and location of your hotel, we may also offer airport transfers in Zanzibar

Day 1: Zanzibar to Selous

Begin your journey with a morning flight to Selous Game Reserve (now known as Nyerere National Park). Upon arrival at Mtemere Airstrip in Selous around 9:30 am, our tour guide will warmly welcome you and transfer you to Selous Kinga Lodge for check-in before lunch. Later in the day, embark on a romantic sunset boat safari along the Great Rufiji River. Witness the mesmerizing sight of hippos grumbling, crocodiles sunbathing on the banks, and a plethora of birdlife, all enhancing your picturesque dusk experience.

Day 2: Full Day Safari

Following a hearty breakfast, set out for a full day of exploration into the expansive Selous Game Reserve. Encounter a myriad of wildlife and untouched natural landscapes throughout the day, with common sightings including countless elephants and buffaloes, prides of lions, giraffes, zebras, impalas, and the renowned African wild dogs. Enjoy a delightful picnic lunch amidst stunning scenery from a secure vantage point while observing wildlife in their native habitat.

Day 3: Walking Safari and Departure to Zanzibar

Following this enriching experience, return to the lodge for a hearty English or Continental breakfast.
