4 Days Rwanda Gorilla Trekking Safari

This 4 Days Gorilla Trekking Rwanda Safari will take you to track mountain gorillas in Volcanoes National Park and to the Dian Fossey hike and Lake Kivu tour. Volcanoes National Park is one of Rwanda’s most visited destinations mainly because it is home to 430 mountain gorillas which are only found in Volcanoes National Park in the northeast of Rwanda

Day 1: Pick Up for City Tour – Volcanoes National Park

Early morning pick up by our company tour guide who will transfer you Kigali for a city tour and visit the local markets, art and craft shops, genocide memorial grounds and later transfer to Volcanoes National Park driving through beautiful countryside and home to the mountain gorillas. Overnight in Mountain Gorilla View Lodge/La Palme/Muhabura hotel

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking and Cultural visit

After early morning breakfast, you will transfer to the park headquarters together with your packed lunch early enough to be briefed about the code of conduct while with the gorillas. This will be followed by entering the forest in search of the gorillas in the forest which may take 2-6 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas in the jungle. Meet and stay with the gorillas for a maximum of one hour. Ascend for a community walk to the Banyarwanda people and enjoy their different performances and also explore more about their unique culture. Have Dinner and overnight at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge/La Palme/Muhabura hotel

Day 3: Golden Monkey Trekking/ Dian Fossey Hike and Transfer to Lake Kivu

Have an early morning breakfast and then proceed to the park headquarters to trek golden monkeys along with other primates in the forest. You can also take a hike to the Karisoke Research Center for a visit to the Dian Fossey Tombs. Along the way, you may come across some primates such as the black and white Colobus monkeys, Vervet monkeys, L’hoests monkeys, and some bird species, after you will be transferred to Kivu Lake. Day 4: Transfer to Kigali and Departure.

After breakfast, enjoy a boat ride on Lake Kivu to the different islands on the lake and later embark on a transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
